Privacy

When we work together, I keep a record of our sessions: your contact details, what brought you to see me, notes from our sessions, and any forms you’ve signed. I use it only to care for you, to keep the professional record my College requires, and for billing.

I don’t share your information without your consent, except where the law requires or allows it: for example, if I believe someone is at serious risk of harm, if I suspect a child needs protection, or if a court orders it. If that ever happens, I’ll tell you whenever I’m able to.

Your record is kept securely and confidentially, as Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers require. I keep it for as long as the College requires, and then it is securely destroyed.

You can ask to see your record, or ask me to correct something in it. Tell me in person, by phone or by email, and I’ll answer within 30 days.

I’m the contact person for privacy in my practice; you can reach me by phone or email, below. If you’re not satisfied with my answer, you can complain to the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario at ipc.on.ca or 1-800-387-0073.

Messages from the contact form are emailed to me through Cloudflare, the company that runs this website, and aren’t kept on the website. Please don’t include health details in them; we can talk about those privately. To keep out spam, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person, not a program, is sending it; it isn’t used for advertising.

The site has no cookies, analytics or advertising. Your browser remembers two small things for your next visit, kept on your own device: which waterfall it showed you last, and whether you turned the video quality down. Like any website, its servers keep short-lived technical logs, such as IP addresses, to keep it running and secure.
